What is it about restoring a motorcycle which brings so much pleasure to so many people? One owner, confronted with his restored Matchless G80, said: "A more beautiful motorcycle I have never seen. Simply put, she was perfect. Every nut, bolt and washer was just the way she left Plumstead in 1965".
It sounds as though the restoration had beaten that old enemy, time! The clock, for the Matchless owner, had been turned back to 1965. Another owner, back in the saddle of his restored bike, said: "I feel as though I have been rejuvenated!".
So bike restorers could well be in the business of restoring owners!
